In this video the process of setting up an X-Y stage including initial controller communication, motor setup, tuning, and more is demonstrated. This process will introduce the Step-by-Step Tool and show how easy Step-by-Step makes the initial connection process and motor configuration (especially for new users).
For those who have or will struggle with resonances in your control systems, Galil has produced App-note #3502 "Using Notch Filters to Mitigate Resonance." This note discusses the different types of resonances and what can be done to deal with them. In particular it explains two ways to use the notch filters available in Galil controllers to solve resonance issues in real-world applications.
The EDD-3701x, part of Galil’s EtherCAT Family of products, now communicates seamlessly with any TwinCAT® EtherCAT Master in addition to Galil's EtherCAT Masters (DMC-500x0 and DMC-52xx0).
