GDK Installation

Microsoft Windows

Install

GDK is distributed in an installer for Windows.

See the GDK Release Notes page to download the newest installer.

For developers wishing to bundle GDK within their own installers, execute the GDK installer with the /S switch to run silently with defaults. If the Galil security certificate is not already trusted on the deployment target, a digital signature dialog may be presented.

Uninstall

To uninstall Galil software on your system, use the Add/Remove Programs tool.

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.
  3. In the search box, type Galil to see all Galil products. Highlight the package to uninstall and click Uninstall.

Upgrade

GDK is bundled with the Galil Updater utility which will prompt when a new release is available. Automatic checking can be disabled in the GDK Settings window.

To have GDK check for updates now, click the About GDK icon in GDK's bottom left corner, followed by the Check for updates button.

List All Versions

The release notes page shows all versions available for Windows.

Installing Older Versions

Galil recommends first uninstalling any installed versions of GDK, gclib, and gcaps. Then simply download and install the desired version from the release notes page.
